Séminaire LATMOS (Jussieu), le mercredi 23 novembre à 11H: Dr. Elian Wolfram, CEILAP (Laser Research Center and Applications), Buenos Aires, Argentina: Ozone depletion measurements in Southern Patagonia. Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Tour 45-46, 4ème étage, salle 411.

Since spring 2005 the Lidar Division of CEILAP, joined with French and Japanese researchers has been monitoring atmospheric parameters using lidar technologies in southern most continental part of South America. The Río Gallegos experimental site is located in South Patagonia (51º 55’S, 69º 14’W), in subpolar region and it is a convenient monitoring site of the atmosphere in the southern hemisphere. In this presentation I will describe the Río Gallegos site instrumental capabilities and I will present typical measurements of ozone profiles taken with a Differential Absorption Lidar and other ground based instruments during austral spring.
